Sarah Cullen: President

Sarah Cullen started SideCar PR in 2011 with the goal of streamlining and eliminating inefficiencies in the way traditional public relations firms were run.

The first step was to specialize.

It takes time to get to truly get to know a client’s industry. Starting from scratch with every new client (as you would do at a generalist agency) seemed counterintuitive. Sarah saw SideCar could provide greater value if we came into each client relationship with a working knowledge of the industry, the major players and the client’s position.

She chose to specialize in commercial real estate because she saw an opening for a firm that understood how the industry worked and could move quickly.

She saw a way to hit the ground running for our clients.

This ability to see a need and understand connections is what makes Sarah such an asset to our clients. She has the ability to see the connections in any situation – from understanding the inner workings of the industry to linking professionals in the industry to relating a local trend to a broader national media story.

Under Sarah’s leadership, SideCar has developed strong partnerships with some of the most influential firms in the commercial real estate industry in Denver and great working relationships with the media that cover them. Sarah has been directly involved in:

  • Executing an award-winning media campaign for Bindery on Blake in RiNo, including a magazine cover and nine features in local publications.
  • Spearheading an advocacy series for ELEMENTS with the Downtown Denver Partnership and the Commons on Champa.
  • Securing regular bylined articles and features for clients such as JLL and Elsy Studios.
  • Developing engaging video, blog and media campaigns for RNL.
  • Creating effective community/industry involvement and award strategies for ELEMENTS and Elsy Studios.

Prior to founding SideCar PR, Sarah spent seven years with JohnstonWells Public Relations, working on accounts in the real estate, nonprofit, telecommunications, retail, and healthcare industries. She gained valuable experience serving clients in all capacities and developing effective public relations strategies for a variety of audiences.

Sarah graduated from Colorado State University with a bachelor’s degree in Speech Communication, with a concentration in Media Relations. She is currently a member of the Downtown Denver Partnership, Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce, the Public Relations Society of American Colorado Chapter. Sarah lives in Morrison, Colo. with her husband, two daughters, a Rhodesian ridgeback, and a quarter horse. When she’s not taking care of her clients or family, you can find her riding the trails on her horse or creating a new dish for friends and family to enjoy!
