Summer may be winding down, but things at SideCar PR aren’t cooling off any time soon! August was a busy month with client happenings and fun-filled activities for our team. Plus, we welcomed a new team member!

Let’s kick things off by looking back at some of our clients’ accomplishments:

ELEMENTS CEO Traci Lounsbury Takes Home Top Honors: We were thrilled to watch as SideCar client Traci Lounsbury was named an Outstanding Woman in Business by the Denver Business Journal. Traci is so deserving of this award, which recognizes leaders in business and the community, and we couldn’t be more honored to work with Traci and her team! Traci was also recognized as Volunteer of the Year by the Downtown Denver Partnership for her contributions towards launching the Women on the Rise Program and for serving on their Denver Civic Ventures board. It was a big month for ELEMENTS, as their Discovery Center was named one of Engineering News-Record Mountain State’s Best Projects of 2017!

Elsy Studios Wins Big: We were thrilled to see Elsy Studios honored with an ASID Colorado Crystal Award for their outstanding work on a shared service center. They received the top honors in the Commercial or Residential Custom Designed Element category for a beautiful millwork art piece they designed.

JOHNSON NATHAN STROHE Honored: JOHNSON NATHAN STROHE’s Maven Hotel received a 2017 Design Award from AIA Colorado and a 2017 Design Award from AIA Denver in the commercial and institutional category. The Maven was also recognized as one of Engineering News-Record Mountain State’s Best Projects of 2017. Way to go, JNS!

RNL Senior Principal Rich von Luhrte Retires: The SideCar team helped send off Rich von Luhrte into retirement after more than 50 years as an architect and urban planner, including 39 years at RNL. Rich was instrumental in the original design of the 16th Street Mall, and his legacy will most definitely live on. We wish you all the best, Rich!

The HUB Groundbreaking: One of RiNo’s most anticipated new developments broke ground and is on track for completion in late 2018. This 275,000-square-foot, mixed-use development is centrally located across the street from the 38th and Blake RTD commuter rail station. SideCar client JLL is serving as the building’s leasing agent.

DRiNk RiNo Tap Takeover: SideCar’s pro-bono client brought some of RiNo’s top brews to the Skyline Beer Garden for a one-night tap takeover. The event was a hit with the crowd grooving to the sounds of the Mary Louise Lee Band and sampling some of the best Colorado craft beers and ciders.

Team SideCar stayed busy too…

Caty became the newest member of the SideCar team! She dove into the action, Facebooking, Twittering and Instagramming up a storm for our clients and SideCar. Welcome to the team, Caty!

Alexis said, “Arrivederci!” to SideCar for two weeks as she jetted off to Italy with her family at the end of the month! We’re living vicariously through her Instagrams of wine and cheese plates, fine Italian shoes and, of course, historic landmarks.

Anja discovered her new favorite social activity – dubbed Stanley-hopping – sampling vendor offerings at the Stanley Marketplace. Apparently, you can’t go wrong with empanadas from Maria Empanada, French onion pizza from Sazza and burnt ends from Rolling Smoke BBQ – all washed down with a wine slushie from Infinite Monkey Theorem (a DRiNk RiNo member!).

David and his wife traveled back to their home state of Texas for their second of five weddings this year. They enjoyed watching two of their close friends tie the knot and catching up with friends and family!

Sarah and her family made their way to Cannon Beach, Oregon where they visited the iconic Haystack Rock, played on the beach and sipped some Oregon pinot noir (well, at least the adults did!).
